Taqi al-Din al-Subki served as chief judge in Egypt and wrote influential fatwas and treatises. In discussions of tawassul, classical Sunni answers often group him with Ibn Hajar and al-Nawawi as affirming permissible forms of seeking nearness to Allah through the Prophet ﷺ within orthodox bounds.
His son Taj al-Din al-Subki continued the family's scholarly legacy.
